(Old) Colorado Hall was built in 1920 after WSC President Samuel Quigley determined that inexpensive housing was needed. Old Colorado Hall was destroyed by fire in March 1939 set by a 15-year old who confessed to this and other fires around Gunnison. The wooden structure produced intense heat that could be felt as far away as Crawford Hall. The remaining structure was subsequently torn down.
